Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology position requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac and vascular interventional procedures.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit performing cardiac, peripheral, vascular, EP, and IR procedures
- Average daily census of 6 patients
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Call required up to 3 times per week with rotation depending on weekend schedule
- Must reside and be able to respond within 30 minutes for call
- Uses Siemens imaging equipment (floor mount, ceiling mount coming soon) and Cannon labs
- Advanced equipment includes Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, Angiojet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, Diamondback, and Medrad/Acist injectors
- EMR is Epic with Cupid documentation, experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; first-time travelers not considered
- ACLS, BLS, ARRT(R) required; CCI RCIS preferred
- LSRTBE state license required if applicable
- Compact or Louisiana license required in hand upon submission, or candidate must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing
- Proficiency in embolization, coiling, ablations, and implant procedures (ports, pacemakers, ICDs)
- Experience with Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser, and thrombectomy devices required
- STEMI care experience with focus on FTB/DTB times under 60 minutes
- Capable of performing peripheral and EP procedures independently
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel experience required
Additional Information
- Work independently and confidently across all CCL procedures including diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath, EP, and IR cases
- Perform procedures such as PCI, PTCA, ablations, pacemaker/AICD insertion, IVC filter placement, TIPS, and vascular closure
- Strong teamwork orientation with a patient-first mindset and willingness to mentor colleagues
- Facility maintains a highly efficient Code STEMI team with system-best door-to-balloon times
- Orientation held five days a week
- RTO must be discussed and finalized prior to offer to avoid rescission
- Does not accept local candidates; must reside more than 65 miles from the facility
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the facility for one full year before returning as a traveler
