Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU Float position requiring GA or compact licensure and 1 year of MS/Tele or PCU experience.

Details

  • Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
  • Utilizes Epic for charting along with Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required (average of 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
  • Floating required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Preferred experience includes charge role, teaching hospital, and community hospital settings
  • Preferred skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, ventilator care, high flow nasal cannula, cardiac/vasoactive drip management, and surgical drain care

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU patient populations with cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required: must work 1-2 major holidays if they fall during the assignment, or 2 of 3 major holidays if three occur during the assignment
  • Compliance items must be completed on time to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
