Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adults through geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with pacemakers, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, and post-MI care
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and heparin protocols
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for performing own vital sign checks and blood glucose checks
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with no RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, both must be worked; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, two must be worked
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm/PRN) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancelled or were released from a Piedmont assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
