Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Unit (CCU/ICU) position on night shift, requiring critical care experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
Details
- Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios typically 2:1, with occasional 3:1 assignments
- Unit staffed with monitor techs (MT) and, depending on census, additional tech support
- Uses specialized equipment including Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring devices
- Performs procedures such as central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
- Documents in Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Scheduled for 36 hours weekly
- Required to float in rotation with core staffing
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Certification
- Critical thinking skills and self-motivation required
- Recent critical care/ICU experience required
- Professional reference required for consideration
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

- Provide critical care nursing services to complex ICU/CCU patients using advanced monitoring and life support equipment
- Team environment with a mix of experienced day and night shift staff
- Flexible scheduling options available
- Unit has been recognized with a Daisy Award for a Critical Care RN and has supported hospice patients through community initiatives
- Scrubs required in any color, with no denim, capris, or camo patterns permitted
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months are permitted
