Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D and post-partum experience for a night shift position requiring NRP and advanced fetal monitoring skills.

Details

• Mother Baby Center unit covering both labor and post-partum care
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries and 15 post-partum patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Works every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring required
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration required
• Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred
• Minimum 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, and post-partum settings
• Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center environment
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must have been gone at least 3 months since last working as a perm staff or per diem employee at the facility
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Local candidates accepted only outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
