Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a night shift position at a Level II trauma, chest pain, and thrombectomy-capable stroke center requiring TNCC and CPI certification.
Details
- 27-bed Level II trauma ED, certified chest pain center and thrombectomy-capable stroke center
- Core staffing of 4 RNs (or 3 RNs and a medic) plus EMT and support staff, scaling up to 7 RNs and additional staff during peak volume
- Patient ratio of 4:1 with charge nurse support and manager/director on-call backup
- High-volume ED with 30% admit rate, under 10% low acuity patients, 20% ESI 2 volume, and 28% EMS arrivals
- Performs procedural sedation primarily with Propofol, Etomidate, and Ketamine
- Provides psych/at-risk patient care with safety monitoring focus
- Uses Meditech EMR (DOS platform)
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license, CO or compact
- Minimum 1 year of current ED hospital experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI Blue Card
- ENPC accepted in lieu of PALS, or PALS accepted in lieu of ENPC
- CEN certification and/or Meditech experience preferred
- High-volume ED experience preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Provide exceptional patient engagement and customer service
- Facility uses ALTO (alternatives to opioids) pain management therapies, reducing opioid usage by 34%
- Stable night shift team with consistent charge nurse leadership
- ED leadership is actively involved in direct patient care, staff education, and patient rounding
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
