Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and 2+ years of current PICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs
• Floating required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required; candidates with closer to 3 years of recent Level I PICU experience will be considered for first-time travel assignments
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Must be prepared to float to multiple units based on facility and patient needs
• Makeup shifts may be required within the same pay period for any call-out or absence
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years
• No local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered with sufficient recent PICU experience
