Description
American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a Kansas PT license.
Details
- Inpatient acute care setting evaluating and treating patients in ED, ortho/spine unit, Rehab unit, Tele unit, and Med-Surg unit
- Day shift schedule, 40 hours per week, either 7:00-15:30 or 8:00-16:30
- 3 weekend days required per 6-week schedule
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Kansas PT license required if applicable
- Experience with acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings preferred
- Skilled in adaptive and assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
- Proficient in documentation including assessments, evaluations, discharge planning, and care goals
- Experience with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, sliding boards, and specialty beds preferred
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patient populations preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across multiple units including ED, ortho/spine, rehab, telemetry, and med-surg
- Travelers will float to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
- Orientation includes onsite completion of required training modules
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
