Description
American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 1+ year of experience and a Kansas PT license.
Details
- Inpatient acute care rehabilitation setting
- Evaluate and treat patients in ED, ortho/spine, rehab, tele, and med-surg units
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, either 7:00-15:30 or 8:00-16:30
- 3 weekend days required per 6-week schedule
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- Epic charting system preferred
- Travelers may float to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- Kansas PT license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- Experience with acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings preferred
- Skilled in adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive devices, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
- Proficient in documentation including assessments, discharge planning, evaluations, and care goals
- Experience with equipment such as bed alarms, call lights, gait belts, hospital/specialty beds, Hoyer lifts, and sliding boards
- Experience treating neurologic and orthopedic conditions including post-stroke rehab, spinal cord injury, hip fractures, and joint replacements
- Experience with geriatric and orthopedic patient populations preferred
- Skilled in home exercise program development and patient/family education
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across multiple acute care units
- Open to first-time travelers
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Former employees must have a 1-year break in service before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
