Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Nurse Coordinator for an outpatient oncology clinic requiring an active MA RN license and at least 2 years of oncology experience.
Details
- Ambulatory oncology center supporting medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- No floating or charge responsibilities required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required, preferably outpatient oncology care coordination
- Experience with phone triage required
- Experience coordinating VNA, Hospice, and DME referrals
- Experience coordinating referrals to other specialists and scheduling imaging and IR procedures
- Experience obtaining authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs
- Strong communication and organizational skills required
- Proficiency with symptom management and computer/telephone triage systems
Additional Information
- Coordinate patient care closely with physicians and the clinical team
- Help patients navigate their cancer journey, including coordinating treatment start and specialty evaluations
- Provide telephone triage, script renewal coordination, imaging follow-up, and patient education
- Serve as a point of contact for patients with questions prior to starting chemotherapy
- Work within a collaborative care team environment
- Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
- Free parking and shuttle service available from the lot
- Required vaccinations include COVID-19 (plus booster) and flu, with medical exemptions allowed
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
