Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with post-partum skills for a Mother Baby Center role requiring an active MN RN license.

Details

• Mother Baby Center setting with RNs working in both labor and post-partum care
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
• 3x12 shifts available in Day (0700-1930) and Night (1900-0730) rotations
• Every other weekend work required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Required fetal monitoring skills including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Pain management and nitrous oxide experience preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, and post-partum units within a Mother Baby Center
• Acute care teaching hospital with Level 2 Trauma Center designation
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must be gone 3 months from last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem) to be eligible to return
• RTO ideally no more than 5 days
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible unless applying for a radiology position
• No parking fees at this facility
