Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within a pediatric hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Unit may request a makeup shift within the same pay period for any call out or absence

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in CVPICU or PICU required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
• 2 supervisory references required at time of consideration, at least one must be manager/supervisor titled
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiovascular care including dysrhythmia management and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, post cardiac surgery, and VAD management preferred
• Experience with CRRT preferred
• Skilled in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of continuous sedation and IV vasopressors
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery or catheterization
• Floating to different units is a requirement and point of emphasis for this facility
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
