Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and at least one prior travel assignment to treat a general orthopedic caseload.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting within a Physical Therapy department
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts with flexible start and end times
- Patient population ranges from teens to older adults
- Caseload includes a mix of non-surgical and post-operative orthopedic conditions
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- CertDN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
- At least 1 previous travel assignment required
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
- Experience with general outpatient orthopedic conditions such as ankle sprains, DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, hip fractures, knee injuries, low back pain, and post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgeries
- Skilled in gait training, extremity mobilization, and use of assistive devices such as gait belts and walkers
- Experience with documentation including evaluations, care plans, and reassessments
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and documentation of orthopedic and sports medicine patients
- Utilizes modalities such as cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, and TENS
- Provides home exercise programs and patient/family education
- No requested time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
- Candidates must live within 60 miles of the facility or provide a driver’s license matching their address to qualify for local status
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
