Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU night shift travel position requiring NRP certification and prior NICU experience.

Details

• Level 3 NICU unit with 36 beds in a 422-bed hospital
• Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift to cover peak volumes
• Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm equipment
• Charts in Meditech and NeoNotes EMR systems
• Night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees

Requirements

• Active RRT license required if applicable
• NRP certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Level 3 NICU, or 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience considered
• STABLE certification preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Florida-based positions

Additional Information

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide ventilator management including conventional and high frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Perform surfactant administration, blood gas acquisition and interpretation, and nitric oxide administration
• Requires a positive attitude, ability to work independently, and strong critical thinking skills
• Grey scrub color required for Respiratory Therapy staff
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility with no exceptions for local candidates
• First-time travelers may be considered
