Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring robotic surgery experience and an active AK RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room unit of an acute care Magnet hospital
- Day shift, 4x10 hours (0645-1715 or 0845-1915), including weekend rotation on Saturday or Sunday every weekend
- Third shift on weekends will be variable
- On-call required based on unit needs, including weekends
- Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
- Uses Cerner charting system, EPIC experience preferred
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required prior to start (compact accepted at time of submission)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Robotic surgery experience required
- Trauma experience required
- Experience with code response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, electrosurgical equipment, arthroscopes, and laparoscopes
- Skills in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, thoracic surgery, and robotic procedures across multiple specialties
- Experience with blood/blood product administration, infection control, specimen handling, and wound management
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across general, orthopedic, urologic, and thoracic surgical procedures
- Support robotic surgery cases including colorectal, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, and urologic procedures
- Navy scrubs required, with OR/L&D scrubs provided by facility
- Must complete onsite orientation and annual training modules via HealthStream
- COVID vaccination required to work at this facility
- Free parking available near the facility
- Candidates must live at least 100 miles away, as locals are not accepted
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No additional RTO changes allowed once contract is signed
