Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring 2+ years of PICU/CVPICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within a pediatric hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs and RTO
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
• Experience with respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiovascular care including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Two supervisory references required at time of consideration, at least one from a manager or supervisor-titled reference
• Congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, post cardiac catheterization, post cardiac surgery, VAD, and CRRT experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those requiring respiratory and cardiovascular support
• Floating to other units is a requirement and point of emphasis, travelers must be prepared to work in different departments as assigned
• Makeup shifts within the same pay period are required for any call-outs or absences
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position for the facility within the past 2 years
• Local candidates are not permitted within a 60-mile radius
