Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a mid-shift travel assignment requiring Level III Trauma Center experience and multiple emergency-related certifications.

Details

• Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center emergency department treating more than 60,000 patients per year across all age groups
• 54-bed unit staffed by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
• Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
• Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the system
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (State of Alabama or Compact) required, no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification through AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent required
• TNCC certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• 2 years of RN experience required, with consideration for 18 months if working at the highest level of professional license, plus 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
• No prior license actions or hits, past or current, allowed
• NURSYS verification required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to patients across all age groups in a high-volume, high-acuity trauma and stroke center
• Required to complete an on-site skills test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
• Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
• Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
• Parking available on site
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
