Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and pediatric/neonate expertise.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department at an acute care medical center
• Rotating schedule with days and nights, shifts from 5:30a-6p and 5:30p-6a
• No call required
• No floating required
• MedHost EMR used

Requirements

• Current RRT certification required
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required (must obtain NRP before or immediately after start if not already certified)
• New Mexico state license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Pediatric and neonate experience required
• No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Administers respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management
• Conducts patient assessments and monitors responses to respiratory treatments including pharmacological interventions
• Performs and documents arterial blood gas (ABG) punctures and reports results promptly
• Assists physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures including arterial line insertion, intubations, pulmonary function studies, and cardiac/pulmonary stress tests
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance for optimal patient comfort and safety
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• RTO requests must be less than one week
• Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any facility within this health system in the past 2 years will not be considered
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered
