Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Long-Term Care night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC/skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Long-Term Care unit within a 300-bed state/government-run rehabilitation and skilled nursing center
• Care for residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia in addition to general LTC population
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20
• Night shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (22:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend required
• 40 hours per week with no overtime availability at this center
• Shift cannot be changed once offered
• No floating between units required
• PCC (Point Click Care) charting system used, though not required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required with no license hits allowed
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing experience required
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted
• Will accept candidates with background check hits
• One verified reference required for consideration, with a second required prior to contract start
• Proof of license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies
• Supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Attire includes any solid color scrubs with closed-toe shoes
• Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed; start dates align with orientation schedule
• All shifts begin 15 minutes early and end 15 minutes late
• Relias training modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to assignment start
• Candidates must complete labs within 48 hours of signing to avoid cancellation risk
• RTO must be requested and approved at time of consideration; RTO cannot be approved after offer, including holiday time off
• Call-outs must be reported more than 24 hours in advance
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
