Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Supervisor for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and prior LTC supervisory experience.

Details

• Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Rehab and Nursing Center setting including memory care and wound care services
• Supervises CNAs on assigned units while also managing a med-cart
• Patient population includes Alzheimer's and Dementia residents
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20 in a 300-bed facility
• Evening shift, 8-hour shifts (2:30 PM - 11:15 PM), 5 days per week
• Every other weekend required upon center request
• No floating between units required
• PCC (Point Click Care) charting system used, experience not required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required with no license disciplinary history
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN Supervisor experience in LTC required
• Minimum 2 years of overall LTC experience required for supervisory role
• Will accept candidates with recent specialty experience such as rehab, med-surg, or hospital nursing combined with LTC experience
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Must be able to provide proof of license at time of consideration
• Must complete labs within 48 hours of signing
• Strong attendance and punctuality required

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including accurate and safe medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely, accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies while supervising CNAs
• Accepts local candidates
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted at this center
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
• Shifts begin 15 minutes early and end 15 minutes late; failure to comply may result in attendance write-ups
• Shift and RTO cannot be changed once an offer is accepted
• Holiday RTO will not be approved; time off must be arranged directly with the center after starting
• Overtime is not available and must be approved case-by-case while on assignment
• Any call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
• Attire includes any solid color scrubs with closed-toe shoes
• Free parking is available on-site
