Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC experience, including comfort working with a secured memory/behavioral health unit.

Details

• State/government-run long-term care facility with a secured memory and behavioral health unit, offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
• 300-bed facility with a patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20
• Alzheimer's and dementia patient population
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 14:30-23:15
• Every other weekend required upon center request
• Uses PointClickCare (PCC) charting system, experience preferred but not required for consideration
• No overtime available; OT must be approved case-by-case while on assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required with no license hits allowed
• Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted
• Strong attendance and punctuality record required

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely documentation
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies and supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Must be comfortable working within a secured memory unit
• Attire includes any solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes
• Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
• Start dates occur every 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling, and orientation cannot be missed
• Relias training modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to assignment start
• Shifts begin 15 minutes early and end 15 minutes late to accommodate handoff
• Holiday RTO is not approved at time of submission and must be arranged directly with the center after starting
• Cannot change shift or add RTO once an offer is accepted
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted
