Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Neuro/Ortho unit with night shift hours and rotating weekends.

Details

Med-Surg unit specializing in neuro and orthopedic care on the 3rd floor
32-bed unit with 49 staff including RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
Patient ratios of 1:4 (RN only) or 1:5-6 with PCT support
Common procedures include total joint replacements, complex spine care, complex neuro surgery, and general surgery
Uses Welch Allyn equipment and Meditech EMR
Night shift schedule from 7pm-7am
Rotates every 3rd weekend, with night shifts falling on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
Floating required to Med/Tele and Surgical Specialty floors
13-week assignment

Requirements

Active KS or compact RN license required
BLS certification required
ACLS or PALS preferred
Basic Dysrhythmia class preferred
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

Fast-paced, team-oriented unit environment
Provide care to patients undergoing complex orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures
Royal blue scrub top and bottom required, or black scrub bottoms may be worn
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
