Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
- 1:6 patient ratio
- Day shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) with 36 or 48 hour weekly options
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief unit orientation provided
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
- Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tube management
- Experience with CVA patient care
- Experience administering Heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
- Experience with telemetry monitoring (unit and remote) and use of rapid response/code teams
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- Experience with surgical drains and total joint replacement care
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
