Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2 years of experience and a New Mexico or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), with 36 or 48 hour weekly options
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Epic charting system
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating to like units required, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 2 years of experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team activation
• Experience with medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Experience with GI care such as colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experience with renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management
• Experience with orthopedic care including total joint replacement

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg and MS/Tele patient population
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• No RTO approved during the first week of orientation
• Up to 3 days of RTO can be auto-approved
