Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position on night shift, requiring VA or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Details

• Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on Main 11 West
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• EPIC charting system required for consideration
• Candidates will float within scope as needed
• Every other weekend and 2 holidays required per contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro experience preferred
• BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from accredited (ACEN or CCNE) programs accepted
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) and hospital evaluations required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-focused nursing care within a neuroscience progressive care setting
• Modules assigned during orientation via VCU Learning Exchange; non-billable and must be completed by Friday of orientation week
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• Both travelers and permanent staff must be separated from VCU Health for one year before returning as a traveler
• Time-off requests must be submitted for consideration; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• Candidates should not work more than 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
