Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring telemetry experience and NIH Stroke certification.

Details

• 36-bed telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 4:1 with cath recovery, 6:1 max, occasionally stretched to 7:1
• PCTs available on day and night shifts, unit clerks on day shift
• Uses remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps
• Documentation via Meditech
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Agency staff float first, potentially to Ortho or Med-Surg units

Requirements

• Active KY or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Knowledge of chest tubes and dysthymia training required
• Experience with chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and care for cardiac patients
• Participate in unit efforts to maintain a 75% patient satisfaction rate
• Scrubs required, any color except camo
• Unit follows specific Telemetry Monitoring and Stroke policies
• Unit has received Daisy and Bee award recognitions and holds a monthly STAR award voted on by staff
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
