Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Children's) with 2+ years acute care experience and PICU/NICU background for a Level II trauma center's respiratory care team.

Details

• Respiratory Care Services department within a Level II trauma center with a children's hospital
• Treats patients across the lifespan from newborn to geriatric in critical care, adult general care, and pediatric general care units
• PICU and NICU patient populations
• 3x12 schedule with varied shifts and rotating days of the week
• Weekend and some call shift requirements, schedule varies based on department needs
• Floating to other units may be required up to competency level
• EPIC EMR used, training provided during orientation or option to test out

Requirements

• Active RRT license required
• Active Nevada state RT license required
• Must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care license prior to start
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RT experience required
• Recent critical care experience required
• PICU and NICU experience required
• Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions
• Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Initiate, modify, and manage patient care plans under established protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records and department logs
• Focus on positive patient experience through communication and service recovery practices
• Work in an extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius with high trauma volume
• Required to work at least 2 major holidays and may need to pick up one additional shift per schedule period
• Facility may call off shifts without penalty for low census with 48 hours notice
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• A 13-week break is required for returning travelers after completing a prior contract
• Requested RTO must be included at time of submission
