Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for an inpatient/outpatient hospital role requiring 2+ years pediatric SLP experience and VFSS competency.

Details

• Hospital-based Physical & Occupational Rehabilitation unit
• Provides both inpatient and outpatient speech-language pathology services
• Inpatient duties include bedside swallow studies, diet recommendations, and monitoring
• Outpatient duties include VFSS and speech therapy evaluation/intervention for the adult population
• Day shift schedule, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7am-5:30pm with Thursdays off
• 36-40 hours per week
• Rotating weekend on-call requirement for inpatient coverage, typically once per month
• Uses McKesson EMR for documentation

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Michigan SLP license required, if applicable
• 2+ years of pediatric SLP experience required
• VFSS experience required
• Must be willing to work in both inpatient and outpatient units
• New graduates will not be considered
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Skills checklist in Speech-Language Pathology current within 1 year required for consideration
• At least one supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide speech, language, and dysphagia evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and home programs
• Design and revise plans of care and treatment goals
• Provide written and verbal reports to physicians
• Complete documentation according to unit standards and regulatory requirements
• Participate in in-service education programs, patient care committees, case conferences, and staff meetings
• Must be able to work independently and hit the ground running from day one
• Dress code is business casual or matching scrubs
• Accepts candidates residing within 50 miles of facility at a reduced pay rate
• Maximum of 5 days RTO accepted, with all scheduling requests required at time of submission
