Description

American Traveler is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring MO licensure and CCC certification, with LTC or rehab experience preferred.

Details

Long Term Care facility setting within the Speech Language Pathology unit
Caseload typically includes 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation volume
Standard treatment sessions are approximately 30 minutes per patient
Group therapy sessions are utilized to support productivity goals
Each therapist is provided a dedicated device for documentation
Day shift schedule, 8 hours, Monday through Friday
Flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
No weekend work required unless a holiday falls Monday through Friday, in which case hours may be made up on the weekend
No on-call requirements

Requirements

Active MO state RN license or compact license required
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required per facility policy
Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
New graduates accepted if Level II clinical experience was completed (Level I observation alone not sufficient)
LTC or Rehab setting experience required
3 years of experience holding an active CCC preferred
One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

Responsible for screening, evaluating, and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develops and adjusts individualized plans of care based on patient progress and evidence-based practice
Communicates regularly with supervisors and interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress and treatment plans
Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on speech-related disorders
Prepares comprehensive discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards
Documents all treatment services and minutes accurately in the electronic documentation system
Participates in required facility meetings, trainings, and in-services
May supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs
Maintains adherence to ASHA and state practice standards and codes of conduct
No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
