Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on nights, requiring high-risk OB experience and at least one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 45 beds and 2 ORs
- Patient ratios of 1:1-2
- Cares for high-risk OB, antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery patients
- Administers magnesium, insulin, and pitocin drips
- Unit averages 150-350 deliveries per month across campuses
- Night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hrs/week
- Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
- Required to float across maternity units at multiple campuses including postpartum and mother-baby units
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA state RN license or compact/multistate license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN or Intermediate/Advanced EFM certification required
- Minimum of one prior travel assignment completed within the last 12 months required (no first-time travelers)
- Required experience in Labor & Delivery, antepartum, and C-section/vaginal delivery care
- Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level II trauma facility required
- Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level I trauma facility highly preferred
- Post Partum/mother-baby care experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Recent/current Labor & Delivery experience must be reflected on work history/resume
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Supervisory performance evaluation or reference within the last 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across Labor & Delivery, antepartum, and postpartum units
- Hospital-provided scrubs
- Holiday rotation required, with contractors expected to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within the health system
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
