Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a critical access hospital's adaptive acuity unit, requiring charge and drip experience along with a VT or compact RN license.

Details

  • 25-bed adaptive acuity IPCU unit at a critical access hospital
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional PCU-level care at a 3:1 ratio
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36-hour weekly guarantee
  • Every other weekend required, with holidays required if needed
  • Must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice
  • Charge nurse responsibilities required

Requirements

  • Active VT RN license or compact license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
  • Charge nurse experience required
  • Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience strongly required
  • Drip experience required, including insulin, emolol, and sodium drips
  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 months of previous travel nursing experience required
  • Small critical access facility experience preferred
  • Must have a personal vehicle to travel to and from the facility
  • Skills checklists required for PCU, Med Surg, and Telemetry, current within 1 year
  • One supervisory signed reference required from within the past two years of employment

Additional Information

  • Provide adaptive acuity care including PCU-level patient care as needed, which cannot be refused
  • Must work two designated holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
  • All requested time off must be submitted and verified prior to consideration, with a maximum of 5 days accepted
  • Scheduling requests made after offer or interview will not be approved
  • Candidates seeking block scheduling or other schedule accommodations will not be considered
