Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced 60-bed unit requiring 2+ years of straight Med/Surg and Level I or II trauma experience.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit with mixed acuity, including post-surgical cases, diverse medical conditions, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice patients
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to a wide patient population
- 12-hour day shifts, with 3/12 or 4/12 scheduling options accepted
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required at time of submission
- Compact license not accepted
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of straight Med/Surg experience required (float or SDU/Tele experience does not qualify)
- Level I or Level II trauma experience required
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for nursing specialties
- Michigan license verification (LARA and Nursys) required

- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans using the Clinical Practice Model and Caring-Quality Model
- Utilize SBAR and interdisciplinary communication for effective care coordination
- Join a unit with an active Unit Based Council promoting teamwork and a positive work environment
- New team members receive orientation support as they grow in professional nursing practice
- Strict attendance policy in place, with termination risk after three absences or late arrivals of more than 20 minutes
- Local candidates accepted, with a 35-mile radius defining local traveler status for pay rate purposes
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment
- Former McLaren full-time employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
