Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III/IV NICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and readiness to float across multiple units and campuses.

Details

• Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting with occasional float to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU
• BPD NICU patients typically have an average length of stay of 2-3 years and require frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00am-7:00pm
• Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and rarely ED
• Float requirement to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
• Patient population includes neonates under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks gestation
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high frequency ventilation, and oscillators
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
• Experience with NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and post-abdominal surgery care
• Experience with high-risk delivery attendance and neonatal sepsis management
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

• Responsibilities include comprehensive NICU nursing care across a wide range of neonatal conditions, including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and neurologic care
• Floating is a significant and consistent expectation for this facility across units and campuses
• Two-part interview process, beginning with a screening interview followed by a unit manager interview
• Candidates cannot have worked in a permanent role for this health system within the last 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 60-mile radius
