Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position requiring NRP and FHM certification along with at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- High-risk Labor & Delivery unit including OB Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
- Care of laboring patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes for gestations 34 weeks 0 days and greater
- Involves C-Sections and External Cephalic Versions
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM-6:00 PM)
- 36 or 48 hour scheduling option available
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating to like units within scope required as needed
Requirements
- Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation/scrub, hemorrhage/shock management, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Competency in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care procedures
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Support high-risk conditions including preterm labor, placenta previa, multiple gestation, and VBAC management
- Assist with neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments in the delivery room
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be submitted at time of application; no more than 3 days will be auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
