Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position on night shift, requiring 1-2+ years of experience and active TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed Medical/Surgical unit of a 95-bed acute care hospital
• Patient population is primarily geriatric and adult, with occasional pediatric cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Rotate every other weekend, with potential for additional weekend shifts based on need
• On-call responsibilities depending on census
• Floating required to medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER units, including low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU at a 1:3 ratio
• Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech stationed at the nurses' station
• Uses Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo monitors, CareView, telemetry, Sara Stedy, and ARJO lifts
• Uses MedHost EHR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• 1-2+ years of Med/Surg experience required
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients in a Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility
• Scrubs of any color accepted, but print scrubs are not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
