Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring WA license in hand and at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Short term acute care Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Teaching hospital setting with 629 staffed beds
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:11
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling required
- Floating between units required, including possible floating between sister facilities
- No on-call required
- Duties include floor care, ER coverage, code response, and rapid response
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active RRT certification required
- Washington state license required (license required if applicable)
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with medication delivery systems and administration of respiratory medications
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
- Experience with trauma and rapid response situations preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across multiple units including floor care, ER, and rapid response teams
- Participate in code response as needed
- Scrub color for RRT is any color
- No parking fees at this facility
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submission process
- Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers may be considered for this assignment
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
