Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring WA license in hand and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Short term acute care Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Teaching hospital setting with 629 staffed beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:11
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling required
• Floating between units required, including possible floating between sister facilities
• No on-call required
• Duties include floor care, ER coverage, code response, and rapid response
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• Washington state license required (license required if applicable)
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with medication delivery systems and administration of respiratory medications
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
• Experience with trauma and rapid response situations preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across multiple units including floor care, ER, and rapid response teams
• Participate in code response as needed
• Scrub color for RRT is any color
• No parking fees at this facility
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submission process
• Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this assignment
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
