Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with 2+ years of critical care experience and an active Minnesota RN license to provide 13-week coverage on a day/night rotation.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Float coverage to CVTU, Tele, NPCU, MPCU, and SPCU units when not needed in critical care
• 3x12 hour shifts, day (0700-1930) or night (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio typically 1:1-2

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license in hand or proof of Minnesota license application required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with telemetry, arterial lines, and ventilator management required
• Skilled in ABG interpretation, chest tube assistance, central/PICC line management, and IV therapy
• Experience with cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications preferred
• Experience with CVICU, MICU, IABP, Impella, and post-cardiac surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction or respiratory failure
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
• Must complete required lab work within 48 hours of signing the contract
• Minnesota Livescan fingerprinting must be completed in person on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, regardless of residency
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no time off allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of consideration
• Local candidates within 25 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates requesting a medical or religious vaccine exemption must provide appropriate documentation
