Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with prior travel and ICU experience for a 13-week assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed ICU
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, with NIHSS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Proficient in cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and Swan-Ganz monitoring preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Complete onsite orientation modules averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
