Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a high acuity, high volume unit requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience.
Details
- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital setting
- Care for post-surgical patients across vascular, general, thoracic, gynecologic, neuro, orthopedic, kidney transplant, and Whipple procedures
- Unit cares for ventricular drains but not ICP monitoring, as patients requiring ICP monitoring go directly to the ICU
- Requires familiarity with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
- Regularly boards overnight ICU craniotomy, step-down, and med-surg patients
- Day/Night rotation with variable shift starts including 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900
- 12-hour shifts
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or Compact)
- BLS certification required
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years required
- Previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in a high acuity, high volume environment
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
