Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care Wound Care position requiring a minimum of 2 years of wound care experience and MS or compact RN licensure.

• Work in a 100-bed long-term acute care (LTAC) facility
• Long Term Care unit focused on wound care services
• Patient population includes geriatric, short-term, post-acute, LTC, and trach patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:20 with a Nurse Practitioner on duty Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm
• Ancillary assistance provided with 9 staff during days and 7 at night
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• No block or self-scheduling available
• Floating required to units within competencies
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (MS or Compact) required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience required
• Minimum 2 years of LTAC experience required
• 400+ bed or Level 2 trauma experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred, though strong first-time travelers may be considered
• Must pass a pre-assignment Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm strip) test with a minimum score of 80%
• Full date of birth, Social Security Number, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide wound care nursing services to geriatric and post-acute patients
• Facility requires complete availability and scheduling flexibility as a non-negotiable expectation
• Contracted position must be maintained as primary work commitment above any other employment
• Scrub color provided upon assignment
• Fingerprinting process must begin within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• Orientation held on Wednesdays for RN/LPN positions in Tupelo
• Covid vaccine and flu shot are not required; if declined, a mask must be worn at all times except during meals
• All compliance documents due 7 days before start date
• First week does not include guaranteed hours
• Must not have worked in a permanent or per diem role at this health system within the last 12 months
• Local candidates accepted
• Local rate enabled within a 50-mile radius
• Radius rate available
