Description
American Traveler is hiring a Maternal Fetal Ultrasound Technologist with 3+ years of OB/GYN or vascular scanning experience and ARDMS registration in OB/OB-GYN.
Details
- Outpatient maternal-fetal medicine clinic setting
- Performs specialized maternal-fetal ultrasound exams including detailed anatomical evaluation, complete fetal echocardiogram, growth assessment, fetal wellbeing, biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, and amniotic fluid assessments
- Also performs needle procedure guidance, maternal pelvic anatomy exams including transvaginal cervical assessment, and advanced 3D/4D diagnostic techniques
- Schedule consists of 4x9-hour shifts plus one 4-hour half-day on Friday
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing complex OB/GYN or vascular scans
- Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography/General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program
- BLS certification required
- ARDMS registration required in OB and OB-GYN
- Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification preferred
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Assists radiologist in performing invasive diagnostic techniques specialized to maternal-fetal ultrasound
- Provides standardization and training to residents on these exam types
- Consults with patients and evaluates contraindications such as medications, insufficient preparation, or inability/unwillingness to tolerate the procedure
- Performs ultrasound procedures under general or direct physician supervision as defined by the procedure
- Analyzes sonography findings throughout exams to ensure comprehensive data collection for physician interpretation
- Recognizes situations requiring direct radiologist observation of real-time scans
- Advises radiologist and referring OB provider of exam results and preliminary diagnostic findings
