Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a Days shift assignment requiring critical care skills and rotating call coverage.
Details
- Interventional Radiology department within a 269-bed hospital, including a 1-room IR angiosuite and a 5-bed IR holding area
- Patient population includes invasive and non-invasive procedures in IR suite, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and Diagnostic Imaging
- Maintains 1:1 patient ratios in Imaging
- Uses Nihonkohden patient monitors
- Currently on Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic in October 2024
- Days shift, 5x8 schedule with weekend coverage as needed
- On-call responsibilities on a rotation basis
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; ARNA certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Interventional Radiology required
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Strong critical care nursing skills and ability to perform well under pressure
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care in the Imaging department, including monitoring vital signs, maintaining IV lines, and administering medications under physician direction
- Assists with various imaging procedures and acts as liaison between the Imaging department and patient care division
- Responsible for documentation of patient records and communicating changes in patient condition
- Maintains emergency equipment, supplies, and crash cart drug inventory
- Interacts with patients across various age groups and backgrounds
- Surgical scrubs provided for procedure areas; street clothes not permitted
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
- Holiday coverage is on a rotating basis
- Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Local candidates may be considered, though local contract limitations apply to those within a 50-mile radius
