Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown Neuro/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Stepdown Neuro unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for MS, MS/Tele, and Telemetry patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Floating required to all care areas as needed
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- May require holiday coverage participation
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with post MI and pre/post cardiac surgery care
- Experience with IV insulin protocols
- Experience with feeding tube care and management
- Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management
- Experience with IV therapy, chest tubes, nasal cannulas, and wound care
- Must be clean-shaven to achieve proper mask seal for respirator fit testing, with no exceptions for medical or religious exemptions
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers welcome to apply with required experience
- Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
- Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
