Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a children's hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed
• Care for pediatric patients including those with congenital heart disease and post-cardiac surgery needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
• 2 supervisory references required at time of consideration, at least one manager/supervisor titled
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and IV therapy
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization care preferred
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD) management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post-surgical needs
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this role
• Candidates who have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• Unit requires a makeup shift within the same pay period for any call out or absence
• Floating to other units is a requirement and a point of emphasis for this facility
