Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring MO or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Evening shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required
• May be required to float to another department within scope and competency as Helping Hands or to take a patient assignment
• Navy blue scrubs required for this unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and SAFE (provided at facility)
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, medication administration, neurological care, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatric care, respiratory care, and shock/trauma management
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma cases
• Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, gunshot wounds, sickle cell crisis, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Perform procedures including 12-lead EKG, splinting, central line care, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility with no exceptions
• Local candidates and first-time travelers will not be accepted
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no requests for a full calendar week off during the assignment and any time off pre-approved before the start date
• Some holiday coverage expected during the assignment
