Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring strong critical care experience and advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills.

Details

• 16-bed CVICU within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients
• Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVAD patients
• Unit equipped with Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation performed in Meditech
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work 2 weekends per month
• Floating to other ICUs or floors as needed
• Free-floating charge nurse available to assist staff
• Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech support available M-F 7:30 AM-3:30 PM
• Student Nurse Externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience required
• Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred
• Experience performing central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on unit
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative care for patients following high-volume, advanced cardiac surgeries
• Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubation procedures on the unit
• Intensivist assigned to the unit 24/7
• Work alongside 5 full-time cardiac surgeons
• Strong, collaborative nursing team
• Required to wear black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with scrub jackets/vests only
• Holiday coverage required for 1 summer holiday and 2 winter holidays
• Unit has received the HCA Unit of Distinction Award and a Daisy Award recipient
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
