Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and ARRT (R) certification.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab and IR unit with 7 suites/holding rooms and 2 cath labs (2 bays and 5 rooms)
• All adult cardiac patient population including peripheral and cardiac cath PCI and device cases (ICD, pacers)
• Average caseload of 4-5 cases per day, ranging from 2 to 9
• 3-person team structure consisting of 2 RNs and 1 tech
• Uses EPIC EMR and Xper (Cupid) system
• Tele monitoring via hardwired Phillips system at bedside
• Monday-Friday shifts, 0700-1530
• Call requirement of approximately 10-11 shifts per month including weekends, Monday-Friday 1530-0700 and weekend coverage Sat/Sun 0700-0700
• Holidays covered by 7-7 call rotation
• May float to Non-Invasive CV to start IVs
• Unit-specific orientation includes 2 shifts with a preceptor followed by buddy call

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certification required
• ARRT (R) certification required as CV Invasive Rad Tech
• WV state license required if applicable
• RCIS certification will not be accepted in place of Rad Tech credentials due to WV X-ray equipment requirements
• Experience with IABP and IVUS required
• Familiarity with Acist injector preferred but not required (training provided)
• Acute care hospital experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and monitoring for cardiac cath and IR procedures
• Certain medications mixed in the lab using Omnicell, with additional medication protocols covered during orientation
• Cardiology coverage available on-call 24/7
• Respiratory therapy called in from ICU as needed for ventilator management
• Scrubs provided, with Rad Techs wearing burgundy
• COVID vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption forms available upon request
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Previous perm staff or travelers must have a 2-year break before returning to any WVU Medicine facility
• Travelers are limited to a cumulative 1-year assignment length within the WVU system before requiring a 2-year break
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
