Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a hospital setting requiring 24 months of recent ICU experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in a 5-bed ICU with 3 stepdown beds
• Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3 during overflow
• ICU patient types include vent, BiPAP, AirVo, bariatric surgery, and general surgery
• Manages drips including propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Day shift schedule with 7a start, 3x12s, 36 hrs/week, no 48s
• Required to work every third weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floats to Med Surg when ICU census is low or staff call in, caring for bariatric surgery, ortho, and general med surg patients
• Should be comfortable caring for 2-5 patients

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification preferred, can be obtained during onboarding
• 24 months of recent/current ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience within the previous 24 months required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with tele reads/measures required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment with regular floating to Med Surg
• Orientation dates available in November
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Limited to 1 day off request during late November and the December/January holiday period
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible for travel assignments at any UPH market facility if employed within the past 12 months
