Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PACU position requiring PACU or ICU experience with a strong neuro background and ventilator competency.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed Main PACU plus 4-bed Atrium PACU within a Surgery Center setting
• Team includes RNs, a Clinical Coordinator, and Department Assistants
• Day shift schedule follows a waterfall start pattern (8:00a, 9:00a, 11:00a, 12:00p) with 9, 10, and 12-hour shifts
• Night shift coverage via on-call starting at 9:30p
• Patient ratios of 2:1, with 1:1 for unstable ICU and pediatric patients
• Uses ventilators, Phillips and GE monitors, and Sigma Spectrum pumps
• Charting is done in Meditech
• No floating required
• On-call required weekdays from 9:30p-8:00a and weekends from 7a-7a, rotating among staff

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• PACU or ICU experience required with a strong neuro background
• Ventilator competency required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PACU specialty
• ICU, PACU, drip titration, or neurosurgery experience preferred
• Experience performing PCA pump setup, drip titration, and arterial line blood draws

Additional Information

• Navy scrub attire required
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, teamwork, and reliability
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
