Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and prior neuro experience.

Details

• 48-bed adult Med/Surg unit with 1:6 patient ratio
• Approximately 3-4 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
• 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• May be placed on standby (low census) one shift per pay period if census drops
• Opportunities for growth into charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical ladder roles

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI-A certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Prior neuro nursing experience required
• Remote telemetry experience highly preferred
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited nursing program
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Skilled in prioritizing tasks and care, discharge planning, and care of patients with complex problems

• Provides clinical nursing care using the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and participates in discharge planning
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as needed
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and goal setting
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure patient care environment
• Utilizes effective communication systems within the department
