Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with strong vaginal exam and C-section circulating skills for a 13-week assignment requiring an active CA RN license.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 9 LDRs plus 4 additional beds for triage and outpatient testing
- Unit staffed with approximately 43 team members including Charge RN/Clinical Nurse Coordinator, RNs, OB Tech, and Unit Assistant on both day and night shifts
- Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 depending on acuity
- Uses hospital beds, GE Novii and wired fetal monitors, and OR equipment
- EMR system is CPN/Meditech
- Shift schedule is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Floating required to Mother Baby unit
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of fetal monitoring experience required
- Experience as a C-Section Circulator and in Post-CS recovery required
- Proficiency in performing vaginal exams required
- Experience caring for laboring patients including CS and vaginal delivery and recovery
- Experience caring for high-risk antepartum patients, including gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes
- Experience managing obstetrical emergencies, including OB hemorrhage
- Experience caring for newborns within the first hour of life, including breastfeeding and initial latch support
- Strong customer service and critical thinking skills required
- Scrub experience and NCC certification in Inpatient OB or EFM preferred
- Resume required for consideration
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Perform labor and delivery management including vaginal exams
- Conduct outpatient testing such as NST, CST, and BPP
- Support OB triage, OBED, and medical screening exams
- Assist with versions and cervical cerclage procedures
- Administer outpatient injections as needed
- Ideal candidates are flexible, adaptable, positive, and collaborative team players
- Navy scrub attire required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
